Appearance and Behavior
Octoballoons have a large, checkerboard pattern balloon and spotted legs. They come in two colors: blue (1 HP) and pink (2 HP).
Octoballoons typically hover above the ground, moving in circles until Blinx comes near. When Blinx approaches, the Octoballoon will lower itself and shoot a piece of trash out of its mouth in an attempt to hit him. Octoballoons are fairly nearsighted, though, so they can easily be defeated by shooting them from a distance.
Blinx: The Time Sweeper Game Manual
This creature floats through the air like a balloon. It gathers up trash and drops it on the heads of unsuspecting workers!
Blinx: The Time Sweeper: Prima Strategy Guide
You meet the tricky Octaballoon often in your quest. These small octopi hang from helium-filled balloons and shoot trash at their enemies. They are easily defeated with trash projectiles if you can aim accurately and fire. If the Octaballoon is too high or you are standing too close, the auto-aiming capabilities of Blinx's sweeper won't always lock on the monster.
Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space Game Manual
This menacing creature floats in the air and shoots trash at you.
Behind the scenes
- Artwork of an Octoballoons in Blinx the Time Sweeper showed it spitting out a boombox, suggesting this was a type of trash Octoballoons would shoot out in the game. Not only do Octoballoons not shoot this type of trash Blinx the Time Sweeper, but this type of trash is not found in the entire game at all. Whether this idea only went as far as drawing boards is unknown, though.
- The Octoballoon along with the Spiker are the only types of Time Monsters that appear in both Blinx the Time Sweeper and Blinx 2: Masters of Time and Space.
- In the Blinx: The Time Sweeper: Prima Strategy Guide, the Octoballoon is mistakenly spelt as the Octaballoon.
